What It Is

What Are Living Letters?

Living Letters are short, intentional video messages recorded in advance for specific people. They are not casual home videos or highlight reels. They are private keepsakes meant to say what matters clearly and personally.

After a loss, they give loved ones something rare: your voice, your reassurance, and your presence at the moments it will matter most.

  • For milestones they wish you were there to see.
  • For hard days when they need your reassurance most.
  • For the words that should never be left unsaid.

Perfect for: Children, Grandchildren, Spouses, Close Friends.

Getting started

The hardest part is starting

You do not have to face a blank page alone. We stay with you from the first sentence through the day of filming.

1

We help you write it

Before filming, digital tools walk you into the words for each letter.

2

We help you say it

On the day, a teleprompter carries what you wrote, so you can look up and leave a message that is dignified and clear.

Imagine This

Living Letters aren’t generic videos. They’re intentional, personal messages—recorded in advance—meant to be opened at the moments they’ll matter most.

Portrait of Margaret
Margaret’s Story

No one forgotten

Margaret was later in life and still full of life. She was sharp, funny, and completely herself. She began pre-planning because she knew she would not always be as active as she was then.

So she recorded a series of Living Letters. For each of her children, she made a letter telling them how much they meant to her and how much she cherished being called mom. But she didn't stop there. She left behind a letter to each of her six grandchildren. These were not group messages. Not a blanket “I love you.” Personal. They were intimate messages each grandchild got to keep, reminding them just how much grandma loved them specifically.

The point: each person gets a keepsake that feels private, specific, and worth returning to for years.

Portrait of Samuel
Samuel’s Story

Dad's still there

Samuel was a father in his 40s who was surprised with a late stage cancer diagnosis. He never let his diagnosis define him, but he was aware that he might not have another ten years. His biggest fear wasn't dying however. It was looking at his young boy and understanding that there would be a lot of his son's life that he simply wouldn't be present for.

Living Letters give Samuel a way to leave behind milestone messages for his son. Recorded while he was still able bodied, and before the chemo therapy treatment started to show, he recorded messages for his son that contained his most important advice, hopes, dreams, and love for his son. That way, when his boy would one day wake up and not find dad waiting for him in the kitchen, he would still get to have his father's presence with him as he mourned. Because of what Samuel left behind, his son didn’t have to lose his father entirely.

  • That way, dad is still there at his son’s 18th birthday.
  • That way, dad is still there at his son’s wedding.
  • That way, dad is still there when he's needed most.

The point: when absence would hit hardest, he was always there waiting to be heard again.
